Finding the right support for a child with special educational needs shouldn't feel like a full-time job. But for thousands of families across the UK, that's exactly what it is — endless Google searches, out-of-date council directories, word-of-mouth recommendations in Facebook groups, and the constant worry that you're missing something.
We built SENDfinder because we've been there. We know what it's like to wait 18 months for a diagnostic assessment, to receive an EHCP that doesn't reflect your child's actual needs, and to spend hours trying to find a speech therapist who actually has availability.
Our directory brings together educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, SEND tutors, EHCP solicitors, and dozens of other specialist services — all searchable by location and service type. Every listing includes contact details, service information, and reviews from other families.
How we verify providers
Trust is everything when you're choosing someone to work with your child. That's why we check professional registrations against official registers — HCPC for speech therapists and occupational therapists, BPS for psychologists, Ofsted for schools and nurseries.
Providers who claim their listing and verify their credentials receive a verified badge. We also display Ofsted ratings where available, and professional body registrations so you can check for yourself. If we can't verify a claim, we don't display it.
Reviews on SENDfinder come from real families. We don't allow anonymous reviews, and we actively monitor for anything that looks fake or incentivised. Our goal is honest, helpful feedback — not inflated star ratings.
Our commitment to families
SENDfinder will always be free for parents to use. Searching, browsing, reading reviews, and contacting providers costs nothing. We fund the service through optional premium listings for providers who want enhanced visibility — never through charging families who are already stretched thin.
